2023年11月14日ー16日にUAE アラブ首長国連邦のアブダビで開催されたグローバルメディアコングレスに、SDGs.TVを運営する株式会社TREE代表の水野が招待され、参加しました。世界170ヵ国以上からメディア関係者が集まり、これからのメディア経営やジャーナリズムについて専門家による会議やワークショップ、展示などが開催され、2万人以上の参加者がありました。
大きなトピックとして、AIがもたらすニュース報道の可能性やリスク、そして世界中が取り組む気候変動やサステナビリティについて報道のあり方について議論されました。世界中のSNSにおいてフェイクニュースが増加する中、大手ニュースメディアが生成AIにより制作プロセスの効率化を実現しながら、その工程負荷を削減した時間をジャーナリストとしての視点や伝え方に注力することが求められます。

Media Reporting and Journalism in an AI Society
TREE representative Mizuno was invited by WAM, a UAE public media company, to participate in the Global Media Congress held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from November 14 to 16, 2023.
Media professionals from more than 170 countries around the world gathered for conferences, workshops, and exhibitions by experts on the future of media management and journalism. 20,000 people attended the event.
Among the major topics discussed were the possibilities and risks of AI in news reporting, and how to report on climate change and sustainability as the world grapples with the issue.
With the increase of fake news on social networking sites around the world, major news media must focus on journalistic perspectives and ways of communicating while streamlining the production process through generated AI, and the time spent reducing the process load.
